Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra

Even the thunder will be clapping.

Valery Gergiev and the Mariinsky Orchestra aren’t just coming to Toronto… they’re more astounding than ever.

It’s been said they’re the most magnetic conductor and entrancing orchestra anywhere. If you’ve caught them here or anywhere else in the world (including on-line and live streaming), you know just what a chest-thumping, heart-rending, mind-boggling performance they can create.

If you’ve missed them, well… some background to the ardor: Valery Gergiev conducts the Mariinsky Orchestra (which used to be called the Kirov) of St. Petersburg. Gergiev also directs the London Symphony Orchestra and is the principal guest conductor of the Metropolitan Opera, and last year was named one of Time Magazine’s One Hundred Most Influential People in the World.

Proof of charisma? Check out the Youtube video on this link: Valery Gergiev.

Come Friday, October 21st at Roy Thomson Hall, you’ll be able to enjoy what all the clamor is about. Especially when you hear their program of Russian masterworks:

Stravinsky: Firebird Suite

Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 3 (Alexander Toradze, piano)

Shostakovich: Symphony No. 1

You can get your tickets via the Roy Thomson Hall box office. Or you can order them from us right now. Why us?

  1. Our tickets cost 10% less.
  2. You’re invited to be our guest at a private reception during intermission on the night of performance.

To order your tickets through us, just click the link below and follow the prompts. You can pick them up at the will-call table at Roy Thomson on the night of the performance.

I know the language of advertising inevitably says at this point: “Hurry… this one-night only performance will sell out!”

But you know what?

This… performance… absolutely… will… sell… out.

So please hurry.
