RamsayTalks with Tanya Talaga

Some messages are best delivered in person.

The Knowing stands Canada’s past on its head and reshapes it in a way only Tanya Talaga can.

The famed Anishinaabe journalist and Massey Lecturer reveals how all-embracing our mistreatment of our founding people was, and offers a way forward to real reconciliation.

Big new ideas are rarely comfortable, and The Knowing is the big new book of the year.  So it deserves a big hall to hear what’s vital to us all.

About Ramsay Talks

RamsayTalks have been held in Toronto for over 40 years.

They began as luncheons‚ with speakers like Malcolm Gladwell, Valery Gergiev, Sir Edmund Hillary, Brent Hawkes and Margaret MacMillan. Then in 2009, they grew into breakfasts, smaller and more interactive gatherings with speakers like Samantha Power, Robin Ghivan, Tracy Kidder and Peter Gelb.

In 2010, Bob Ramsay partnered with the Globe and Mail and Mackenzie Financial to create the Keynote Speaker Series with leading thinkers who happen to be authors such as Ken Auletta, Sheena Iyengar, Nicholas Christakis, Tim Wu and Tony Hsieh.

In addition, in the summer of 2011 RamsayTalks co-produced the 20th anniversary reunion of Thelma & Louise, with Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis live on stage at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.

Today, RamsayTalks include series programmed for larger venues such as the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema with speakers such as Jane McGonigal, Robyn Doolittle and David Thomson.

Recent speakers have included: Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn, Charles Bronfman, Wade Davis, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Niall Ferguson, Kathleen McLaughlin, Sandy Pentland, Eric Schmidt, Howard Schultz, Andrew Solomon, Geoffrey Stone, Cass Sunstein, Dr. Robert Lustig, Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman, Simon Winchester, and for the Sony Centre with Amy Cuddy.
