How To Have A Good Death

How To Have A Good Death

The Supreme Court ruled that we can ask a doctor to help end our lives if we’re racked with enduring, intolerable pain. Ever since that ruling, we’ve had something few citizens of any nation in any age have been granted: a choice.

The “how” of death is what four experts will tackle at the RamsayTalk on the evening of Tuesday, May 31 at the Bloor Hot Docs Theatre.

André Picard

They’ll bring their own expertise – medical, legal, journalistic and advocacy – to the debate that’s now heard passionately everywhere in our land. But they’ll also bring their own first-hand experience of the gnarly complications surrounding palliative care, the right to die and physician-assisted death. They’ll all speak individually, then join André Picard, The Globe and Mail’s  public health reporter, for a discussion, followed by Q&A with the audience.

Our speakers are:

Shanaaz Gokool – CEO, Dying With Dignity Canada
