Kristine Barnett

December 2, 2013

When your son’s autistic, who would even think of nurturing his “genius”? Kristine Barnett would – and did.

Kristine Barnett is the author of The Spark, the memoir that stormed the publishing world this summer. The Washington Post called it “amazing, compulsive reading,”… and Sylvia Nasar, author of A Beautiful Mind, said “If you have a child who’s different — and who doesn’t? – you won’t be able to put it down”.

Her son Jacob was so autistic that she thought he would never read. But two months ago, Jacob was accepted at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, one of the world’s most eminent scientific institutions. Jacob’s IQ is higher than Einstein’s and he is just now 15 years old.
