When your son’s autistic, who would even think of nurturing his “genius”? Kristine Barnett would – and did.
Kristine Barnett is the author of The Spark, the memoir that stormed the publishing world this summer. The Washington Post called it “amazing, compulsive reading,”… and Sylvia Nasar, author of A Beautiful Mind, said “If you have a child who’s different — and who doesn’t? – you won’t be able to put it down”.
Her son Jacob was so autistic that she thought he would never read. But two months ago, Jacob was accepted at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, one of the world’s most eminent scientific institutions. Jacob’s IQ is higher than Einstein’s and he is just now 15 years old.
You are cordially invited to find out first-hand when Kristine Barnett launches a new early-evening RamsayTalks series – Big Issues: Fresh Views. It tackles the complex, difficult issues that don’t get aired as much as they deserve.
So please join us to hear one of the most inspiring stories in the world.
Kristine Barnett speaks on Monday, December 2nd from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Isabel Bader Theatre.
