Dr. Robert Lustig, author of Fat Chance, on why sugar is like… tobacco.
Six years ago, an eminent professor of pediatrics at the University of California delivered a lecture called “Sugar: The Bitter Truth.” Since then, 5.5 million people have seen it on YouTube.
Then in 2013, he wrote Fat Chance, which went on to sell a squillion copies. Then, later this month Hot Docs will screen the world premiere of Michèle Hozer’s stunning documentary,Sugar-Coated, about the sugar industry’s tactics.
On Friday, May 1st, Dr. Robert Lustig will speak at a RamsayBreakfast about all of the above, and this is your invitation to join us.
As The Guardian recently said: “His meta-analysis of the cutting-edge research on large-cohort studies of what sugar does to populations across the world, alongside his own clinical observations, has him credited with starting the war on sugar. When it reaches the enemy status of tobacco, it will be because of Lustig.”
