In 2009, Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for her discovery of telomeres which are linked to a host of age-related illnesses, from cancer to heart disease. Dr. Blackburn is one of the world’s leading scientists, serving on over 30 institutional advisory boards or review committees, and one of Time’s 100 Hundred Most Influential People in the World.
She and her colleague, Dr. Calvin Harley, are leveraging telomere biology not only to help monitor our health, but to discover new ways of extending our years and improving our health.
On Wednesday, May 15th, Elizabeth Blackburn and Calvin Harley will speak at the Ramsay Luncheon on “The science behind aging slower and living longer.”
